Julien Alour received a classical training at the Quimper National Conservatory of Music, where he obtained a gold medal award in 1999. He then moved to Paris to devote himself to jazz.
In 2007, he obtained the Diploma of Higher Education (DFS) from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of Paris. He plays regularly in numerous groups in jazz clubs in Paris and festivals (Marciac, La Villette, Montreal, etc.) and is a member of several groups, notably: Daniel Mille Quintet, Tony Allen, the Hymne Au Soleil by Lionel Belomondo, Samy Thiebault Quintet, Christophe Dal Sasso Big band, Eric Legnini, the Ivan Jullien big band, Aldo Romano, Panam Panic and Jacques Schwarz-Bart.
